People sometimes forget that PGA Tour players grew up idolizing other golfers until they also watched history unfold at Augusta National.

Sahith Theegala reminded the world that he is a big Rory McIlroy fan on Sunday as he watched the tournament unfold.

Theegala is just 27 years old. He grew up watching McIlroy, Tiger Woods, and other players that he now gets to play alongside. However, Rory is on another level for him.

"Rory is Sahith's GOAT we are about to throw up," Juju Chan, Theegala's girlfriend, wrote in her caption on TikTok of them reacting to McIlroy's missed putt.

You can hear Theegala talking about what McIlroy needed to do to make that putt. The group also discussed how the graphic said 'to win the career grand slam.'

He can be heard begging, "please, please please," as McIlroy missed a putt to win on the 72nd hole.

When the Northern Irishman missed the short par putt, Theegala pulled up his shirt and put his face inside. He jumped up in disbelief and then proceeded to leave the house.

He appeared as gutted as any McIlroy fan in their house.

Chan zooms in on Theegala pacing outside in the backyard.

"Sahith is sick," she said on video.

That video went nuts on social media, so Chan posted part two when McIlroy won the tournament.

Everyone in the video started cheering, and Theegala stood up and clapped.

"Let's go! This is so sick," Theegala said as he reacted to the big victory.

The 27-year-old could not take his eyes off the screen as he watched his favorite player finally overcome the course that had haunted him for years.

Theegala may have competed in the tournament and finished T29, but like so many people, he wanted to see Rory finish it.

The golf world stopped for a short time to watch McIlroy take it all in and express his emotions.

Theegala may be a fellow PGA Tour player, but when a generational player does what McIlroy did on Sunday at Augusta National, he became a fan again.
