Local agencies aid during ‘ICE Storm’ blitz in South Carolina
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Local law enforcement agencies joined others from across South Carolina in a law enforcement operation on Interstate 95.
“Operation ICE Storm” took place last week.
While enforcing traffic laws, officers completed 1,250 traffic stops for violations. Fifty of those stops required officers to deploy K-9s.
SLED investigates officer-involved shooting at Graniteville apartment complex
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating an officer-involved shooting at the Palisades at Langley Pond apartments in Graniteville.

Officers arrested 25 people, including five fugitives with warrants and three people in the country illegally who will be placed into removal proceedings by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
One missing person was found. The individual was found to be safe, and their family in Florence County was notified.
Officers seized illegal drugs, firearms, counterfeit goods and illicitly gained currency.
Seizures included:
- 1,112 grams of methamphetamine
- 469.5 grams of marijuana
- Eight grams of crack cocaine
- Six firearms
- $337,850 in counterfeit goods
- $10,680 in illicitly gained currency
- One stolen vehicle, several stolen IDs, and credit cards with a card reader that had been used in fraud.
Participating agencies included the North Augusta Police Department of Public Safety, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office, Darlington Police Department, Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Florence Police Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

“We know these fine officers do excellent work every day in their respective jurisdictions, and to have them partner with us for this operation was an honor and a powerful testimony of their professionalism,” said Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis.
