The Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance, presented by Ferrari of Washington, brings collector cars to the resort's front circle.

white sulphur springs, w.va. – The Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance, presented by Ferrari of Washington — the annual celebration of the automobile at The Greenbrier — returns for its seventh year with three days filled with activity this weekend, May 3-5.

“It’s difficult to believe we’re already in our seventh year, but we’re incredibly proud of what this event has become,” said Cam Huffman, The Greenbrier’s director of public relations and a member of The Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance Steering Committee. “We’ve found a formula that works, but each year we look for something new and different to make the experience just a little better than it was the year before.”

The event begins on Friday, May 3, with the annual Summit Drive. Car enthusiasts from 11 states and as far away as Wisconsin will gather at The Greenbrier Sporting Club’s Summit Lodge before departing on a drive on West Virginia’s country roads. This year’s drive will culminate at Snowshoe Mountain Resort.

Saturday’s festivities begin with Cars & Cocktails, presented by Ole Smoky, surrounding The Greenbrier Golf Club and Springhouse. Nearly 150 cars of all years, makes and models will be on display. From a 1931 LaSalle to a 2017 Lamborghini, a little of everything will be on the display field. The show field is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with awards at 2 p.m. The event is free for the public to attend, and shuttle service will be provided from the Train Station lot across from The Greenbrier’s main entrance.

Following Cars & Cocktails, an automotive discussion will take place in The Greenbrier Theatre.

Saturday night brings the annual Kentucky Derby Party and Charitable Dinner inside Colonial Hall. Guests will watch the Kentucky Derby pre-race action and pick their winner for a chance to win prizes. Tickets will be available at the door.

The weekend concludes on Sunday with the Sunday Concours, which brings close to 100 of the finest collector cars in the world to The Greenbrier’s front circle. The cars will be judged in 11 classes — Pre-War Trucks and Utility Vehicles, Post-War Utility Vehicles, Post-War Pickup Trucks, Pre-1930 Veterans and Classics, Late Classic Era, British Cars, Sports Cars, Personal Luxury Cars, Muscle Cars, Porsches and Motorcycles. The top three cars in each class will receive trophies handmade by artisans at The Greenbrier; 11 other awards are open to cars in all classes.

The Sunday Concours show field will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with an awards ceremony beginning at 2 p.m. Admission is free for spectators, and shuttles are provided from the Train Station lot.
