Plans and celebrities for fourth annual Roger Maris All-Star Week announced

FARGO — The schedule for the 2024 Roger Maris All-Star Week, including the 40th anniversary of the celebrity golf tournament, was announced.

There will be 15 events including a home run derby, youth sports clinics, and the Roger Maris Gala.

The full list of events is as follows:

• Youth baseball tournament and home run derby: June 14-16
• Youth sports clinics: June 17-21
• RedHawks game: June 18
• Roger Maris Gala: June 19
• Roger Maris Celebrity Golf Tournament: June 20

The list of headlining athletes includes two former Minnesota Vikings players: Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter and linebacker Chad Greenway. The third headliner is 10-time Major League Baseball All-Star Steve Garvey.

Roger Maris Jr. says four decades of the annual celebrity golf tournament is an incredible milestone.

"We've been doing it for 40 years now and it's really just an amazing feat that's happened here in Fargo and something everybody should be extremely proud of," Maris Jr. said.

All money raised will support the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center.
