In Sneinton, a new colourful, funky adult-only golf course is hoping to bring something different to the city. With themed cocktails, DJs and more, people nearby say they are excited feel like it will "go down well".

On Daleside Road, Sneinton, Big Fang’s golf course will be open seven days a week for people in Nottingham to enjoy. However, the golf course won’t appear just yet as it’s due to open in 2025.

Passersby and those living in Sneinton are pleased with the news. Neighbouring businesses near to the golf-course-to-be include those at the Lady Bay Retail Park and the Daleside Cafe.

Louise Bailey, 33 lives in Lady Bay. The florist said: “I think an adult-only golf course would go down well. I think round here, it’s quite quiet, the retail park is always busy but it [Big Fangs] will attract more people to the area.”

Louise added: “It’s nice to hear of more coming to the area where people can socialise and get involved in something.” The adult-only course will have 18 holes at a current, old industrial site. Founders Kip Piper and Daniel Bolger opened their first site in Liverpool in 2016 inside the 25,000 square-foot Cains Brewery.

The company previously said: "We don’t take ourselves too seriously and have a naughty sense of humour. We consider ourselves a Graffiti Cathedral combined with a seriously twisted crazy golf course and cocktail bar."

Jamie French, 40 lives in Colwick. The builder said: “It’s a big space and it’ll attract people to the area, there’s nothing like that in town I don’t think and some people don’t like going to town too so this is an alternative for them.”

Sian Dawkins, 25 lives in Sneinton. Sian has a good feeling too about plans for the new golf course.

She said: “I think it’s a great idea, it sounds good. It sounds like whether you’re 18 or 50, you’ll be able to have a good time and a laugh.

Sian continued: “It’s nice to have something adult-only too. I have a little boy who is great but you can take most kids everywhere with you, the pub, restaurants, places like that so it might be a fun thing this [Big Fangs] for parents without the kids for the night or a daytime activity.”
