Poor families get foodstuffs, cash to celebrate Dashain

Makawanpur, Oct 4: Chairperson of Manahari rural municipality in Makawanpur district, Ranjan Kalakheti, has provided foodstuffs, and cash to poor and backward families.     

Chair Kalakheti provided foodstuffs worth Rs 300,000 to the poor and backward families, thinking it would be easy for poor and backward families to celebrate the festival.     

He said that he reached the houses of poor families of wards no 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8 and provided 30 kilograms of rice, one liter of edible oil, and lentil to each family.     

Kalakheti, however, also provided cash to some poor families. On the occasion, he expressed commitment to spend the salary he gets during his five-year term as the chairperson on the support of poor and backward families. (RSS)
