Photos: Charred aftermath as fires sweep through Colorado neighborhoods

Nearly 1,000 homes were destroyed and several hundreds more were damaged when flames fanned by 75-90 mph wind ripped through entire neighborhoods near Boulder, Colorado on Thursday.

SUPERIOR, Colo. – Nearly 1,000 homes were destroyed and several hundreds more were damaged when flames fanned by 75-90 mph wind ripped through entire neighborhoods near Boulder, Colorado on Thursday.

Some 30,000 people ran from the fast-advancing flames, some with only minutes' warning.  Superior and Louisville were the hardest hit with nearly 900 homes lost between them.
