SOFTBALL 

Alhambra 10, Bell Gardens 0: Juniors Hailey Yoshida and Anais Banuelos combined to toss a no-hitter in the Moors win over visiting Bell Gardens. Yoshida struck out nine. Celeste Cortez connected on a home run.

Whittier Christian 16, Maranatha 0: The Heralds tallied six runs in the first inning and cruised to an easy Olympic League win over the host Minuteman. Brooklyn Carreon, Ava Schultz, and Claire Ashworth drove in two runs.

South Hills 11, Walnut 0: Maddy Del Real and Audrey Gallegos combined to hold the Mustangs to one hit in the Huskies road Hacienda League win over the Mustangs. Gabriela Calderon and Joie Economides each hit home runs.

Charter Oak 12, Covina 4: The Chargers rallied from a 4-1 deficit by scoring four runs in the sixth inning and five in the seventh to defeat the host Colts in a Valle Vista League game. Jasmine Moreno hit a grand-slam home run for Charter Oak.

Schurr 10, Keppel 0: Grace Franklin limited the Aztecs to one hit in five innings in the circle. . She finished with 9 K’s Hannah Vazquez led the Spartan parade with three hits, including a triple with 2 RBIs.

Pasadena 8, Hoover 2: Lorena Philips had a big day for the host Bulldogs in their Pacific League win over the Tornados. The sophomore had two hits including a double and a triple. Naomi Martinez drove in two runs.

Rio Hondo Prep 11, Ontario Christian 1: The Kares broke up a tight non league affair by scoring six runs in the second inning. Katie Key had four RBIs. Tatiana Foor struck out four.

BASEBALL 

Los Altos 6, Wilson 0: Sophomore Jake Ruelas threw five shutout innings, gave up two hits, and struck out five as the Conquerors defeated the Wildcats in a Hacienda League game. Senior Adrian Rodriguez had a solid day at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Diego Moreno and Daniel Santos also contributed three hits.

Walnut 4, Diamond Bar 1: Junior Kyle Calzadiaz, a Cal State Fullerton commit, surrendered one run on six hits and fanned eight as the Mustangs turned back the visiting Brahams in Hacienda League action. Calzadiaz and Ivan Gutierrez each banged out two hits. Diamond Bar’s Max Buchanan struck out five in five innings of work.

Bishop Montgomery 5, Cantwell Sacred Heart 4: Kyle Sugimoto’s double in the bottom of the seventh inning, scored Wesley Girffee with the winning run as the Knights defeated the Cardinals in Camino Real League action. Cantwell Sacred Heart’s Paul Armijo had two hits and drove in two runs.

BOYS BASKETBALL 

Charter Oak 74, San Dimas 52: Andrew Bongo had a double-double for the Chargers (28 points and 10 rebounds) in a home Valle Vista League win over the Saints. Bongo is averaging 23 points a game this season for the Chargers.
