Donald Trump spent one day in five during 2019 at one of his golf courses and almost one-third of the year at a Trump property including his 'Winter White House' Mar-a-Lago

  • President Trump spent 120 days on Trump properties in 2019 and 85 days on Trump properties with golf courses
  • That means, on average, the president has seen the greens once every five days
  • On Tuesday, Trump huffed that the media reported he had been golfing in Florida, when he simply motorcaded to his golf club for a meeting
  • But Trump is outpacing President Obama and could play the same number of rounds in four years that Obama did in eight
  • Part of it is proximity, with a golf property near D.C. in Virginia and another located a short drive away from his Mar-a-Lago resort

President Trump will toast in 2020 at his Mar-a-Lago estate after motorcading to his West Palm Beach golf club for a meeting.

The president hitting two Trump properties in one day isn't uncommon during his Florida stays - and has become a larger theme of his presidency.

CNN counted that the president spent 120 days on Trump properties in 2019. He spent 85 days at Trump-branded golf properties, which averages to about one trip every five days.

Of course his trips don't always include playing the game.

The president blasted the press earlier Tuesday for reporting that he had played golf at his West Palm Beach property when he really had just been there for a meeting.

If Trump had played golf on New Year's Eve he would be in danger of looking out-of-touch, seeing that the American embassy in Baghdad, Iraq had been attacked by protesters earlier in the morning.

'The Fake News said I played golf today, and I did NOT!' Trump tweeted. 'I had meeting in various locations, while closely monitoring the U.S. Embassy situation in Iraq, which I am still doing.'

'The Corrupt Lamestream Media knew this but, not surprisingly, failed to report or correct!' Trump said.

But he does play a lot of golf.

Since being sworn in on January 20, 2017, Trump has been at a golf property 252 times.

He's been at Trump properties generally 333 times.

President Obama, who Trump famously criticized for playing golf too much, played 333 rounds of golf during his eight years in office, according to CBS News.

That means Trump is on track to match Obama in half the time.

The president has easy access to some of his properties from both the Whtie House and the so-called 'winter White House,' Mar-a-Lago.

His D.C. Trump hotel - the only place he's gone out to eat in Washington - is just blocks down Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House.

He also has a D.C.-area golf club, in Sterling, Virginia, a short motorcade ride away.

His Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, is also a quick drive away from Mar-a-Lago, where he and the Trump family stays.
