Terminally Ill Cancer Patient Starts A Go Fund Me Campaign To Educate The World About The Holocaust

I am fighting brain cancer now. But, I want to devote much of my remaining time to educating the world about The Holocaust.”
— Robin Granat
RIVER VALE, NJ, UNITED STATES, August 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- River Vale, NJ-Robin Granat was diagnosed with a gliobastoma nine months ago. This kind of brain cancer carries with it terrible prognosis.

Consequently, Robin realizes that her life will probably end in the near future.

Sometimes, when people battle cancer they discover a cause or rediscover a passion for a cause that they had prior to becoming ill.

Mrs. Granat has been involved with The Holocaust for much of her life and recently she and her family members have decided to devote time and energy to Robin’s new foundation as part of her legacy.

Robin Granat explains her interest in The Holocaust and the importance of educating the world about this period of history:

“I was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer in late 2017.

After learning about my diagnosis, I realized that I had a very serious disease with a very poor prognosis.

In short, it is highly unlikely that I will live more than a few years.

After undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, my husband asked me what I wanted my legacy to be.

While I am suffering with a glioblastoma now, I have been actively involved in holocaust education for much of my life and I decided that I wanted to create a foundation that will educate this generation and future generations about The Holocaust.

This information will be disseminated by books, videos, exhibits and by guest lectures by historians, filmmakers and scholars who focus on The Holocaust.

As I explained to my children, theirs is the last generation that will have the opportunity to meet living holocaust survivors and it is important that this tragic chapter of history is never forgotten.

My interest in the holocaust began as a young girl. My father’s business partner and his wife came over for dinner and I noticed that they had numbers tattooed on their arms. I asked them what these were about and they explained how they were tattooed in a concentration camp.

A few years later, I began volunteering at a Jewish home for seniors. I would entertain the residents by playing my guitar and by singing Yiddish folk songs to them.

As an adult, I have done the required research to add almost one hundred people into the database at the Yad Vashem memorial museum in Jerusalem.

So, if you have some feelings or interest in supporting this important cause, please make a donation.

My family and I will be starting a 501C3 shortly, but we wanted to get the foundation started given my dire circumstances.

Thanks for listening to my story and thanks in advance for your help and support. We look forward to spreading the word about the history of The Holocaust through the variety of media mentioned earlier.”
