DAVISON TWP, MI -- No foul play is suspected after the body of a 63-year-old man was discovered mid-morning Sunday on a Davison Township golf course.

Officers responded shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 to the area of the Davison Country Club off East Lippincott Boulevard in Davison Township for a report of an unconscious male.

Davison Township police Lt. Gerald Harris said, "It was a man and woman that were taking their dog for a walk and they saw him" on the golf course and called 911.

Firefighters with the Davison-Richfield Fire Department assisted Davison Township police with removing the man's body as there was a creek in the area and no direct access from any road, Harris said.

The man, whose name police have not released pending family notification, is a resident of the neighborhood around the golf course.

The golf course was closed for around four hours to allow for an investigation and removal, but it has since reopened.

Michigan State Police and Genesee County Sheriff's paramedics assisted Davison Township police at the scene.
