The presence of a number of legends in world golf - including English players Laura Davies and Trish Johnson, and Catriona Matthew from Scotland - will be an added attraction for the women's Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España, which will take place at La Quinta Golf & Resort from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 November. The event is sponsored by the Tourism and Sports Board of Andalucía, the Costa del Sol Tourist Board and the Mancomunidad de Municipios of the western Costa del Sol, among others.

Davies, one of the best professionals of all time, is unanimously considered a golf megastar; she has an impressive record which, of course, includes triumphs in the Open de España, which she won in 1986 and 2010.

These two titles are part of the nearly 80 on her CV, as well as more than 30 wins in different tournaments on the Ladies European Tour.

Ten times a player in the Solheim Cup, outside the European sphere, Laura Davies has also won very important titles on the American tour and in Japan, and just a few months ago, during this same season, she achieved victory in two majors on the Legends Tour, the US Senior Women's Open and the Senior LPGA Championship.

Johnson, also impressive

The same can be said of her fellow English player Trish Johnson, another of the women who can boast the most titles and fame on the Ladies European Tour.

She will be coming to La Quinta with an impressive baggage which includes other victories in Spain, such as the Tenerife Ladies Open which she won in 2010.

From the other side of the Atlantic comes Beth Allen, looking forward to a rematch. The famous American golfer, with three victories on the Ladies European Tour and many others on the LGPA Tour, always plays well in the women's Open de España.

Last year she fought right up to the last hole against Azahara Muñoz, who achieved her second consecutive win, so this year golf lovers can look forward to yet another exciting and high-powered competition.

The list of legends is completed by Scottish player Catriona Matthew, vice-captain in the Solheim Cup in 2017 and captain of the European team for the 2019 edition. She has very good options regarding the female players who will be confronting the American team next year ,and has very strong aspirations to win.

Catriona's impressive sporting history includes three wins on the LET and dozens of good results elsewhere. She was also one of the best players at the recent Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open.
